Multi-Element Probe

SKU: MEPQ00001

Multi-Element Probe (MEP) for permanent concrete immersion.

The Multi-Element Probe (MEP) allows monitoring of steel embedded within concrete, including reinforcing bar and piping. It incorporates a manganese dioxide reference electrode, a carbon steel element, and a stainless steel element, with connections brought out to a single test box for convenient access to measurements. By permanently embedding the reference electrode in the concrete and connecting the steel elements to the structure, the MEP supports corrosion monitoring and validation of cathodic protection system performance.

Key Benefits
  • Monitor embedded steel more easily: Access the reference electrode and both steel elements through a single test box without chipping away concrete or searching for connection points.
  • Assess corrosion before it progresses: Monitor embedded rebar and piping to help identify potential corrosion issues before they affect structural integrity or lead to costly repairs.
  • Validate cathodic protection performance: Confirm actual versus design operating parameters for steel embedded in concrete.
  • Reduce operating costs: Take measurements without needing to interrupt foreign sources of electrical interference.
  • Simplify system integration: Compatible with remote monitoring and data recording hardware, supporting ongoing monitoring of embedded infrastructure.
