Magnetism and magnetic effects are know to nearly everyone but the explanation of how magnetism behaves can be very complicated. This presentation will attempt to simplify magnetic theory to permit the understanding of magnetic fields and their influence on various materials. The nature and strength of these fields will be discussed as will be the practical limitations of magnetic field strengths that can be produced today. Magnetic, paramagnetic and diamagnetic materials will be identified and the behaviour of these materials will be discussed. Th effect of magnetic field on moving charged particles will also be explained.
